The book "111 Years of Bus and Taxi Service in Kyiv"
The book is a continuation and addition to the series of postcards ‘80 years of regular bus service in Kyiv’ and ‘95 years of regular bus service in Kyiv’
It tells about the formation of the bus and taxi service in Kyiv, the history of brands and models that served the city: from the appearance of stagecoaches (1835) to the appearance of omnibuses (1879), the opening of the intercity bus service ‘Zhytomyr - Kyiv’, the creation of the Taxi Drivers Club, the opening of the first irregular bus service (1913) with Benz-Gaggenau buses, regular bus service with Daimler DC 4d buses (1925) until the Nazi occupation of the city in September 1941 and the end of the war.
For the first time, the history of the main models of bus and car rolling stock in Kyiv for the period 1906-1945 is presented. It also presents a detailed chronology of Kyiv public transport in the pre-revolutionary and early Soviet period, including the history of the creation of the main pre-war airport in Brovary.
