The book "The Holodomor in Slavery: A Staging of Pavlo Naniiv's Novel "The Wicker Coffin""

A dramatization of the biographical and fictional novel by Pavlo Naniiev "The Wicker Coffin". P. Naniiev witnessed and described in his novel the tragic events that unfolded in Ukraine in 1932-33. The requisitioning of peasant farms, forced collectivization, and denationalization of land organized by the Soviet authorities were intended to "dissolve" the identity of Ukrainians in the "indestructible union of free republics." According to available data, up to fifteen million people died in the 1932-33 famine in Ukraine. Today, people again face the threat of famine. The manipulation of mass consciousness is aimed at destroying the memory of ancestors. The purpose of the staging is to use the language of theater to remind contemporaries of the tragic events of our recent past with an awareness of the challenges that humanity faces today. The play "The Holodomor in Slavery" can be a supplement to the school course "History of Ukraine".

The book is intended for a wide range of readers.
