
Volodymyr Kazanevskyi
Graduated from the Kharkiv State University where he specialised in space radio physics. He also graduated from the Kyiv Institute for Journalistic Proficiency. He has won more than five hundred cartoon awards in 54 countries. He was awarded the Kofi Annan Courage in Cartooning Prize in Switzerland in 2022 for cartoons about the war in Ukraine. The same year he received the Political Cartoonist Solidarity Prize in Great Britain and Porcelain Pencil Prize in France.
His recent cartoons about Russia’s invasion in Ukraine have been published in newspapers and magazines Kraina (Ukraine); Washington Post (USA); Asahi Shimbun (Japan); Le Monde (France); Le Soir (Belgium); Pagina (Italy); Le Temps (Switzerland); Balkanium (Macedonia); De Volksrant (The Netherlands); “Berlingske” (Denmark); “Viet Bao” (Vietnam); “Pravda” (Slovakia); “Pras Press (Bulgaria); “Jutarnji list” (Croatia) and others. The cartoons are regularly shown on TV channel “France 24” and were presented at personal exhibitions in France, Italy, Slovakia, Japan, Belgium, and Ukraine.
