The book " The Golden Wisp"
The book presents the materials of the All-Ukrainian project "The Golden Wisp of the Sayenko Artistic Dynasty", which was implemented in 2019 on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the famous Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Sayenko at the state level in the museums of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Borzna (Chernihiv region), Kaniv, and Chernihiv. During the anniversary commemoration of the Maestro, art exhibitions of the Sayenko artistic dynasty, gala evenings, competitions, plein airs, presentations of films and art publications about the work of Oleksandr Sayenko, round tables, and a scientific conference "The Work of the Sayenko Artistic Dynasty in the Context of Ukrainian Fine Arts of the Twentieth and Early Twenty-First Centuries" were held.
At the same time, the book provides information about the collections of works by the Sayenko family - Oleksandr Sayenko, Nina Sayenko, and Lesia Maidanets-Sayenko - in museum collections in Ukraine and abroad, which began to form in the early twenty-first century and constitute an outstanding page in the history of Ukrainian art.
The publication is a part of a series of books (trilogy) - "Family Memory: Epistolaries of the Sayenko Family 1886-2020" and "Artistic Traditions of the Sayenko Dynasty in the Context of Ukrainian Fine Arts of the XX - Early XXI Centuries" dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Oleksandr Sayenko's birth.
The book is intended for art historians, cultural critics, museum workers, and anyone interested in Ukrainian culture and art.
